Last September, the U.S. Air Force shocked the aviation world when they announced that they not only had a design in mind for their Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) fighter, they’d already built a prototype and flown it. Recently, the U.S. Air Force released a report with some pictures of its NGAD 6th generation fighter program. The X-44 Manta wasn’t the only F-22 based concept rolling around at the Pentagon at the time. As the world’s first operational stealth fighter, the first fighter to christen the new “5th-generation” of jets, and arguably the most potent air superiority aircraft ever to fly in service for any nation, it makes sense that the United States would have considered leaning into the F-22 program for other, more specialized roles. While the X-44 concept aimed to saw off its tail and make the F-22 even sneakier, the Sea Raptor effort would have placed F-22s aboard America’s fleet of supercarriers–offering a jet that could fly faster, further while carrying more ordnance than the F-35C’s now destined for Uncle Sam’s flat tops. The next generation air dominance program represents a crucial need for U.S. Air Force to reset nation’s air-superiority force. Air superiority is a bedrock mission within the U.S. Department of Defense. The Next Generation Air Dominance program of U.S. Air force was initiated in the early 2010 with the aim to develop a system of systems that will ensure U.S. tactical air dominance for the decades to come. It includes a highly adaptable and optionally manned platform that possesses substantial range, enhanced survivability, and next-generation modular sensor capabilities. It also supposedly developing companion unmanned aircraft, drones, weapons and networked platforms in space or the cyber realm. Beyond these top-end items, NGAD includes a series of studies and development efforts needed to substantiate and bring to life the technologies required to underpin the NGAD entire ecosystem. The centerpiece of the program is to develop a sixth-generation fighter that would eventually succeed the Lockheed Martin F-22. The NGAD is expected to field the new fighter aircraft in the 2030s and has often been referred to as the F-X or Penetrating Counter-Air. The air dominance role of NGAD is more in line with the current mission of the F-22 or F-15EX than F-35. Accordingly, the Air Force has not budged off its ultimate goal of 1,763 F-35s and is working on the proposal to trim the service's fighter fleets down to just four types including the NGAD, F-35, F-15EX, and F-16, plus the A-10 in the midterm. However, the NGAD is much more than a new fighter. It is a portfolio of technologies enabling Air Superiority for the Joint Force in the most challenging operational environments. Key attributes of the program include enhancements in survivability, lethality, persistence, and interoperability across a range of military operations. The program includes next generation fighter jet, unmanned systems, networked space & cyber assets, cutting edge technologies, weapons, and sensors. The program is budgeted at $9 billion from 2019 to 2025. The U.S. Department of Defense has made no mention of specific contractors for the program so far. The three traditional aviation primes have units devoted to advanced development and prototypes including Lockheed Advanced, Northrop Grumman Scaled Composites, and Boeing’s Aurora Flight Sciences. The NGAD program aims to develop several key technologies in areas such as propulsion, stealth, advanced weapons, digital CAD based engineering design, and thermal management of the aircraft signature. The program changes traditional Air Force acquisition by the separation of design, production, and support functions in the development process with a $9 billion budget through 2025. The F-22 program is now in the back half of its life. The USAF plans on getting rid of it entirely in the 2030s once NGAD is ready. The Air Force is seeking to retire 33 F-22A Raptor stealth fighters which would reduce the total F-22 fleet size from around 186 to some 153. However, the Pentagon's Fiscal Year 2023 budget request documents provide interesting explanation to the sudden jump in unignorable testing of new features on the F-22 Raptor. The documents describe how the F-22 is being used as something of a test surrogate for technologies that are being developed under the NGAD. As detailed in the budget document, the technological development is going to flow both ways. Not only is the F-22 being used to trial NGAD technologies, but when deemed appropriate the F-22 will adopt technologies that have been developed under the NGAD program. ⌚ Timestamps: 00:00 History of NGAD Program of U.S. Air Force 02:47 Introduction to NGAD Program of U.S Air Force 03:36 NGAD Fighter Jet 05:05 What Includes in U.S. Air Force NGAD Program 06:13 Development of the NGAD Program 09:15 Modifications in F-22 to Demonstrate NGAD Technologies -Copyright Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976. NGAD must be more than just the next crewed fighter jet. It’s a program that will include a crewed platform teamed with much less expensive autonomous un-crewed combat aircraft, employing a distributed, tailorable mix of sensors, weapons, and other mission equipment operating as a team or formation,” Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said. The US Has FINALLY Revealed Its 6th Generation Fighter The program for its creation in the USA was called NGAD - Next-Generation Air Dominance. You could not think of a better name - this program should allow the U.S. to continue to have air dominance, as it happens now. It is a joint project between the Air Force and U.S. aircraft manufacturers. As Lieutenant General Duke Richardson, head of the U.S. Air Force Acquisition Command, said, "NGAD is not one of the Air Force programs where I can share many details." So information about the U.S. sixth-generation fighter is extremely scarce. But we have managed to collect everything that is known about it at the moment.
The US Air Force’s secretive Next Generation Air Dominance future fighter program could be the most expensive aircraft program in history, with each piloted, sixth-generation aircraft expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars. When asked about the price tag for NGAD during a Wednesday appearance before the House Armed Services Committee, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall did not specify exactly how much an individual aircraft could cost, but said the service was talking about “multiple” hundreds of millions. This is a number that’s going to get your attention,” Kendall said. “It’s going to be an expensive airplane.”That would be more than twice the F-35′s price tag of at least $80 million apiece. Kendall said NGAD will be “incredibly effective,” but that it will have to be accompanied by less expensive platforms to extend its reach in combat, which he envisions as teams of autonomous drone wingmen. The Air Force doesn’t have an estimate on how much the NGAD’s autonomous wingmen could cost. But in his keynote speech to the Air Force Association’s March conference in Orlando, Florida, Kendall said the service wants those combat drones to cost no more than half as much as their manned counterparts. But if NGAD’s manned component will cost several hundred million dollars apiece, that suggests the wingmen may cost as much or more than an F-35. The NGAD program is so far taking the proper steps in its development phase to hold sustainment costs down in the long term, Kendall said. This is being done by using modular designs and interfaces the government controls to ensure aircraft can easily receive upgrades and maintenance. #WorldinFocus #USAF_NGAD #US6thGenFighter 💢 Source and Credit : 🤍 ©️ For Copyright Issues: worldinfocus9🤍gmail.com Note: Full Credit to Owner (All images, Music, pictures shown in the video belongs to their respective owners. Check out the Military playlist from the Buzz: 🤍 ———————————— Video description: A sixth-generation fighter is an idea for a new class of jet fighter aircraft that is more sophisticated than the existing fifth-generation fighters in service and development. Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Russia, and China have all declared the creation of a sixth-generation aircraft programme. An initial focus on this 6th generation air superiority roles has moved away from close-in dogfighting, which is becoming less common, and instead broadened to embrace ground support, cyber warfare and even space warfare capabilities, with beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missile capability remaining important. Typical design characteristics anticipated to deliver these roles include: • Advanced digital capabilities including high-capacity networking, AI, data fusion, cyber warfare, D2D and battlefield command, control and communications (C3) capabilities. • Optionally manned, with the same airframe capable of conducting piloted, remote controlled or onboard-AI controlled missions. • Enhanced human-systems integration, with virtual cockpits presented via helmet-mounted displays which allow the pilot 360-degree vision with AI-enhanced battlefield awareness, and replacing conventional instrument panels. • Advanced stealth airframes and avionics. • Advanced variable-cycle engines able to cruise economically but still deliver high thrust when required. • Increased-range stand off and BVR weapons. • Potential use of directed-energy weapons such as a laser CIWS. There simply wasn’t a serious answer to the US 5th generation of fighter jets from any other competitor on the market up until recent years. Now, after the troublesome development of the F-35 fighter, US is looking to move above and beyond the competition, and by that I mean, completely new generation of fighters. Meet the Next generation air dominance fighter, the jet fighter of the future! The U.S. became the first country to introduce an operational 5th-generation fighter when it did so with the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor in 2005. There was one thing that truly set the fifth generation of fighter jets apart from the fourth generation - stealth. That is why stealth capabilities are central to the design philosophy of the F-22 Raptor. These aircraft prioritised stealth from day one rather than seeking ways to reduce radar signature once all aerodynamic and engineering development had been done. The result was a multirole fighter that would be able to do hit and run missions behind enemy lines and with either no or minimal losses complete it’s mission goals striking critical enemy targets in either air or on the ground. These fighter jets also included active electronic scanning array radars and engines that are powerful enough to cruise above the speed of sound without the need for afterburners. A downside of firth-generation aircraft, however, is that, although they’re able to carry weapons and fuel externally should the need arise, that doing that instantly makes them less stealthy. And without full-on stealth capabilities, these aircraft could literally be considered more sleek-looking versions of fourth generation jets. And that’s a major let-down. As already stated, a sixth generation or class of fighter jets was inevitable, There is an understanding that aerial combat of the future will have less of an emphasis on one-on-one dogfights or even brute aerial superiority. Rather, the focus and role of the new jet would be a part of an integrated system of manned and unmanned aircraft, ground troops, satellites or AWACS aircraft depending on the nature of the task at hand. The idea behind the integration of manned and unmanned aircraft is that there would be only one pilot operating 2 or more aircraft at a time. UAV would not be controlled from the ground and the AI would be able to perform basic tasks commanded by the pilot, while the pilot would be able to focus on mission priority objectives with drones either providing recon, support or drawing enemy resources and fire letting the pilot slip unnoticed or at least face smaller and softer threat while performing its mission. One of these drones could be XQ-58 Valkyrie or the Loyal Wingman, that we previously covered on the channel. Integral to this digital sophistication will be the use of virtual cockpits. With these, pilots will view their control panels via helmet-mounted displays or HMDs, which will afford a pilot 360-degree vision with AI-enhanced battlefield awareness. Technology already being implemented in F-35. They might also implement some other technology currently in development, like the airborne high energy beam weapons, or simply said lasers. And no, this is not a joke or some sci-fi because the airborne laser platforms have been in development ever since the Cold war with the best examples being Soviet Beriev A-60 and US Boeing YAL-1. More on them in some of the future videos. Implementation of these weapons could be either for the protection of the aircraft, or even for tactical purposes like blinding the enemy sensors, satellites and other. Apart from all those, the multirole 6th gen aircraft will still have to tick all the boxes defined by the previous generation, like the stealth capability, supersonic speed without afterburners and the ability to strike multiple targets at a time. So what actually will be the 6th generation jet?

NGAD: USAF's sixth generation fighter is Progressing According to Plan. The US Air Force’s programme for a sixth generation fighter jet and related systems, Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD), is progressing according to plan. This is according to a top acquisition official at the service in September, a year after then-acquisition chief Will Roper announced USAF had flown a full-scale prototype of an NGAD fighter. NGAD is not one of the Air Force’s programs where I'm able to share a lot of details,” said Duke Richardson, military deputy in the office of the assistant secretary of the Air Force for AT&L, at this year’s Air, Space & Cyber conference. I will just tell you that it is progressing per plan. There’s just so much of it that’s not able to be discussed in an open forum. by Hunt Tones: 🤍

A modern and innovative fighter jet featuring the most advanced technology available in the 21st century was designed, built, and flown in the span of a year by the US Air Force. This sixth-generation fighter jet is expected to become the centerpiece of the Next Generation Air Dominance program. The technological growth of the last decades has undeniably transformed the aviation industry in the entire world, and as the Air Force’s biennial 2019-20 report for acquisition states, “a highly advanced dynamic threat demands a different way of doing things.”
6th Generation NGAD Fighter: The Most Expensive Ever? The “quarterback” concept of the NGAD running a flight of drones is intellectually appealing. The NGAD could stay out of range of enemy defenses and send the drones to do the dirty work in contested air space. That is something the Navy and Air Force should pursue – maybe the force multiplier notion of the airplane is more of a selling point in future back and forth with Congress. Kendall will have to go up in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee as well and he will likely receive more pointed questions about costs for the NGAD. He may want to be more specific in future hearings and media statements. The F-22 and F-35 have been expensive enough.

The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is an advanced stealth tactical fighter jet, exclusively used by the United States Air Force, The F-22 Raptor has proven to be an fighter that can engage an enemy but has speed on its side as well. Its engines are able to produce more thrust than any current fighter today, while the Raptor's aerodynamic airframe along with increased thrust allows it to cruise at supersonic airspeeds, greater Mach 1.5, without utilizing its afterburner – a characteristic known as supercruise. The F-22 Raptor is a fighter aircraft that can quickly attack enemy defenses without being detected, of course being a very feared combat tool. The aircraft with the designation of "STEALTH" has the ability to avoid detection, be it visual, audio, sensors, and radar waves. In addition to being called "stealth", this aircraft also received the nickname "silent aircraft". Its presence is able to become a fortress and paralyze the enemy through the air. While it is unlikely that this new aircraft has seen any substantional development, it is an interesting development within the NGAD program that parts of the USAF champion. - Support Patreon: 🤍 Channel Memberships: 🤍 PayPal: 🤍 - Social Media Twitter: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 - Sources Air Force Magazin, F-15EX vs F-35A, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, Boeing, F-15EX, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, Defense News, The US Air Force has built and flown a mysterious full-sclae prototype of its future fighter jet, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, Defense News, The US Air Force's radical plan for a future fighter could field a jet in 5 years, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, Defense News, The US Air Force's Next Generation Air Dominance program is key to mission success, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, Janes, Update: USAF contracts Boeing to deliver first F-15EX combat aircraft, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, The Drive, The US Air Force has flown a demonstrator for its next generation fighter, available at: 🤍 accessed last 16.09.2020, - Visuals Boeing Department of Defense JohnNewton8 Tiraden Swadim - Disclaimer The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) [or other's] visual information does not imply or constitute DoD [or other's] endorsement. #militaryaviationhistory #usaf #ngad

This video is sort of a sequel to last week's video about how to make the stealthiest fighter of all time. You can find it here: 🤍 This week, we're discussing how to make the deadliest fighter in the skies today. If you were put in charge of developing America’s next air superiority fighter—an aircraft purpose-built to dominate the skies over even the most hotly contested warzones of the 21st century—how would you go about doing it? What systems, capabilities and cutting-edge technologies would you build your new fighter around? That’s a question that was actually posed to America’s premier defense contractors in recent years under secretive developmental programs like the Air Force’s Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) and the Navy’s F/A-XX effort. And it's one we aim to answer in this two-parter. Huge thanks to Rodrigo Avella for the use of his incredible artwork in the thumbnail of this video and in our full write-up! The U.S. Air Force’s secretive Next Generation Air Dominance future fighter program could be the most expensive aircraft program in history, with each piloted, sixth-generation aircraft expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
So, at the end of the day, the question might be: Will the Air Force draw its inspiration from wedge-shaped aircraft like Lockheed Martin’s proposed X-44 Manta and Northrop’s YF-23 Black Widow II for its next-generation fighter? Or perhaps more aptly… has the whole aviation industry already done that? Contac US Twiteer | 🤍 Facebook | 🤍 Email Bussines | military.techno1🤍gmail.com

#ngadfighterjet #6thgenfighterjet #usad-usn 6TH Gen "NGAD" USAF & USNavy Air Force Already Flying | USAF Will Be Tested First. For the U.S. Air Force, next-generation air dominance has a nice ring to it. Otherwise known as NGAD, who wouldn’t like a fighter plane better than the F-35 and F-22? But is it worth the high price tag? Maybe the United States should focus on buying more F-35s and ensuring that F-22s do their jobs. But the NGAD has allure. The 6th generation fighter means the latest in stealth technology, new weapons, and improved engines for supercruise ability, among other modernizations. Is it worth hundreds of millions of dollars for each airplane? This could be up to twice as much as the F-35 and even more than the F-22’s price tag of $122 million each. The Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, General Charles Quinton Brown recently outlined his vision for the future of the US Air Force tactical fighter fleets, and it does not include the F-22 Raptor 5th generation stealth fighter. For many this has come as a profound shock. The F-22 is without question the most lethal and survivable fighter aircraft in operational service anywhere in the world and remains unlikely to be challenged in raw capability terms by any of the latest generation of combat aircraft under development by Russia and China. Furthermore, it is the second youngest of the US Air Force’s fighter fleets, with production having been undertaken from 1996 and 2011. The US Air Force’s Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) fighter remains under wraps, but some clues about capabilities the service wants in the aircraft are surfacing. Lockheed, a leading contender to develop the sixth-generation fighter, says new digital technologies will give NGAD “omniscient situational awareness”. That is reminiscent of the “quarterback” role the USAF has given the Lockheed F-35 stealth fighter. That aircraft is increasingly valued by the service for its ability to use its sensors, software, and connectivity to survey the battlefield. ⇲ Thanks For Watching, Go Like, And Subscribing!!
